As you probably realize, FairCareMD was created by a group of developers, doctors, and healthcare professionals that were annoyed at the lack of healthcare pricing transparency. We are not a front for some big corporation, we are owned 100% by employees and contributors, designers, coders, and regular folks. Since what we are doing is highly disruptive to the big money in the industry (Insurance companies) we choose to stay independent. Fact is, that other sites have tried to do what we are doing but they got bought, undermined, or shut down by companies with a vested interest in the status quo. So if this means you have to wait a few extra moments for a search result or it occasionally crashes, we are OK with that, we know that we are on the right track.
