Professional Statement:

The main focus of my practice is to provide high quality care to people suffering from digestive problems. Whether you are experiencing symptoms such as heartburn, bloating, nausea , or a change in your weight or appetite, it is important to get evaluated by a specialist to ensure you receive the correct diagnosis and best treatment possible. Gastroenterologists are physicians who have extensive training in internal medicine and have received special training in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract which includes the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, large intestines, liver, and pancreas.

In addition to my role as the Medical Director at East Side Endoscopy, I also serve as the Director of Endoscopy in the Division of Digestive Diseases and the Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center. I maintain my Board Certifications in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, staying abreast of the best that medicine has to offer patients. I am also proud to have been selected for inclusion as a “Castle Connolly Top Doctor” for the past three years and recently won a Patients' Choice award.

I am dedicated to educating the my patients and the public about one of the most fatal cancers affecting Americans today colon cancer. Patients diagnosed with colon cancer can increase their survival prognosis by as much as 90% with early screening and detection. I personally perform over 1500 endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy annually and consult on many more as the Director of the Beth Israel Medical Center Endoscopy Department where over 12,000 procedures are performed annually.

I also consider it my duty to continue to perform research and publish in reputable journals. It is an honor to perform such work to advasnce the knowledge and practice of meidicine.
